CEO Meeting

The Brilliance Mind of AI to Support Indonesia’s Future Healthcare Services

24 November 2023

JAKARTA, 23 November 2023 – The growing power of artificial intelligence (AI) has been utilized by some industries worldwide, including healthcare services. In some cases, AI is getting more and more practical to detect cardiovascular and kidney diseases, respiratory disorders, and early indicators of developing diseases through a reading of the body's genetic composition structure. Furthermore, AI has become one of tools the Ministry of Health use to encourage the acceleration of digital healthcare transformation in Indonesia.

CEO meeting is an annual event for executives, particularly from healthcare companies, to conduct a dialogue about the current issues regarding economic, health, socio-politics, and technology. Initiated by Prodia, this event could have been a collaborative space for companies to unlock AI potential through strategic partnerships, shaping the bright future of Indonesia’s health services.

Dewi Muliaty, the Managing Director of PT Prodia Widyahusada Tbk, delivers her speech at the CEO Meeting 2023.

Dewi Muliaty, the Managing Director of PT Prodia Widyahusada Tbk (ticker symbol: PRDA), said that Indonesia has a strong potential to improve healthcare services by harnessing the power of AI. “Today, innovation is inseparable from healthcare service improvements. We can’t miss AI's potential role in enhancing personalized treatments and precise lab results, not to mention that it fosters efficiency in administration processes across Indonesia’s healthcare ecosystems. Given its capacity to process data analytics, pattern recognition, and uninterrupted learning behaviour, AI is ready to redefine healthcare services to be more efficient and customer-centric,” said Dewi during her opening speech at Prodia’s CEO Meeting (23/11) at Park Hyatt Hotel, Jakarta.

On similar occasion, the senior principal of IQVIA Indonesia, Erwin Widjaja, explained how artificial intelligence and machine learning will alter the current healthcare services to create a better version. He stated that healthcare services must be well optimized by AI’s data, experience, and algorithmic calculations. For instance, it will be applicable for more effective business decision-making, including improvements in the R&D area and the manufacturing and distribution process. AI presence would also initiate new applications that are practical to the existing healthcare ecosystems. On the other hand, harnessing the power of AI requires a company’s thorough preparation, especially in data management. This should be done to stay relevant to the company’s business purposes and values.

Agreeing with Erwin, the Executive Director of Deloitte Consulting Southeast Asia, Ashish Mahajan, also shed light on how AI can bring many new opportunities in helping healthcare industries improve their products and services, administration process, and customer experience. Ashish underlined the importance of integrating AI power with the existing business model to run the digital transformation process more efficiently.

The Medical Laboratory Director & HOD of Redcliffe Labs India, Dr. Sohini Sengupta, also conveyed the same take. She stated that AI optimization offers better therapy services and clinical treatments. She continued explaining AI’s reformatory role in procedural efficiency, patient evaluation results, and the company’s decision-making.
