Fostering Personalized Medicine, Prodia and Brawijaya Healthcare Group Officially Open “Genomic Centre”

JAKARTA, 6 February 2024 – PT Prodia Widyahusada Tbk (Prodia) joins forces with Brawijaya Healthcare Group (Brawijaya Hospital & Clinic) by opening “Brawijaya Genomic Centre in collaboration with Prodia” located at Brawijaya Hospital Saharjo. The Genomic Centre will serve as a learning hub for specialized tests, particularly genomic tests. This step shows both entities' commitment to providing the public with excellent services and comprehensive tests that support personalized medicine.

The opening ceremony of the Genomic Centre was attended by Prodia’s Managing Director Dr. Dewi Muliaty, M.Si., Prodia’s Director of Business and Marketing Dr. Indriyanti Rafi Sukmawati, M.Si., Prodia’s Business AVP Indri Wulandari, S.E.,M.M., and Prodia’s Regional Head for Greater Jakarta Siti Nurhidayati, M.M. Brawijaya Hospital Saharjo was represented by Brawijaya Healthcare Group’s co-founders Prof. dr. Nugroho Kampono, SpOG, Subsp. Onk and Prof. Dr. dr. M. Farid Aziz, SpOG, Subsp. Onk, Brawijaya Hospital Saharjo’s Diector Dr. dr. Chamim, Sp.OG, Subsp. Onk, Brawijaya Healthcare Group’s President Director Amira Ganis, MBA, and Brawijaya Hospital Saharjo’s Operations Director Nurhidayati, EPS, MARS, FISQua. 

With this partnership, Prodia will assign genomic counselors to provide information on genomic tests to patients and doctors at Brawijaya Hospital Saharjo. In addition, the genomic tests will be analyzed to generate test results that can be utilized to manage health based on the genomic profile of each person. With this collaboration, both entities will provide pre- and post-genomic-test counseling on, among others, health risk screening, preventive measures, oncology, diagnoses, and appropriate treatments for patients.

Prodia and Brawijaya Hospital & Clinic held a set of activities to introduce the Genomic Center to the public, including a ribbon-cutting ceremony and scientific presentation by experts in genomics. Prof. dr. Nugroho Kampono, Sp.OG, Subs.Sp.Onk was the speaker in a presentation titled “One-Stop Service for Oncology Testing” and dr. Ida Gunawan, MS, Sp.GK, Subsp. KM, FINEM led the discussion of “Discover Your Truly Self”.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Dewi Muliaty, M.Si., who represented Prodia, said, “This collaboration is an excellent opportunity for both Prodia and Brawijaya Hospital Saharjo to achieve their mutual goal of improving the quality of public health. Thus, with an approach like the Genomic Centre, we hope to fulfill the needs of patients and doctors for treating the patients’ conditions or managing their health. We hope this collaboration will improve healthcare services in the country to an international standard in the era of precision medicine.
