JAKARTA, 13 July 2021 – During the Implementation of the Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) which takes place from 3-20 July 2021, the Government requires everyone who will travel by air to show a negative PCR/antigen swab test result and proof that they have been vaccinated. This is conducted to ensure the safety of every passenger while traveling and suppress the spread of the COVID-19 virus. In this regard, PT Prodia Widyahusada Tbk (stock code: PRDA) is one of 742 laboratories affiliated with the Ministry of Health so that the results of the PCR and Antigen test results from Prodia can be used as flight requirements.

Based on information from kemkes.go.id, it was stated that, "Currently there are 742 laboratories affiliated with the Ministry of Health and entering data into the New All Record (NAR). So that only PCR/Antigen swab results from affiliated laboratories that can be used as flight requirements. With this new mechanism, passenger health checks are carried out at the time of departure and not at the time of arrival so as to make passengers feel safer and more comfortable," said Indonesian Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin on the website.

President Director of Prodia Dewi Muliaty stated that, “In line with Prodia's mission of better diagnosis, we have consistently implemented good quality control (QC) in testing methods, evaluation processes, and HR training to provide accurate testing results. As part of a laboratory affiliated with the Ministry of Health, we hope to assist the Government in tracking and checking efforts to prevent the transmission of COVID-19," said Dewi in Jakarta (12/7).

The list of 742 laboratories affiliated with the Ministry of Health has been included in the Decree of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. HK.01.07/MENKES/4642/2021 concerning the Organization of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Testing Laboratory. The Prodia Laboratories included in the list as follows: the Prodia Kramat branch, Central Jakarta; Prodia Surabaya branch, East Java; Prodia Medan branch, North Sumatra; Prodia Denpasar branch, Bali Province; and the Prodia Makassar branch, South Sulawesi.

The Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) method is used as a confirmation method in the COVID-19 testing for the diagnosis and contact tracing of COVID-19 cases.

Laboratories that examines COVID-19 specimens using the NAAT method are required to have criteria from aspects of Biosafety and Biosecurity practices as well as Good Laboratory Practice requirements which include competent laboratory personnel and management; standard operating procedures (SOP) inspection; carry out internal and external quality assurance; have a systematic and traceable results reporting program; and laboratory equipment has been calibrated every year.

Prodia regularly participates in national and international quality assurance programs every year and continues to evaluate the results of the External Quality Assessment Scheme (EQAS) for continuous improvement and develop a consistent quality assurance system. A series of external quality assurance programs at the national level that Prodia participates in is the National External Quality Assurance Program from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, while at the international level Prodia participates in a series of programs including the BioRad External Quality Assurance Survey (EQAS), Randox International Quality Assessment Scheme (RIQAS), College of American Pathologists (CAP), Qualiris, Cholestest Summit, Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia, Australia (RCPA), and Medical Laboratory Evaluation (MLE) with satisfactory achievements.
